CDBG-DR 2018-2019 Floods

Applications Avaialable for Review

The City of Pine Forest 2018/2019 Floods CDBG-DR applications are now available for review at City Hall, 305 Nagel Street, Vidor, TX 77662 between the hours of 8:00 a.m. and 2:00 p.m. The City encourages citizens to participate in the development of this application and to make their views known by presenting their opinions, comments, and suggestions to Cathy Nagel, City Mayor, City Hall, 305 Nagel St., Vidor, TX 77662, during regular business hours. Written comments must be recieved at City Hall by 5:00 p.m. on July 8, 2022 to be considered. The Texas Workforce Commission ("TWC") is the entity responsible for enforcing the Fair Housing Act in the State of Texas. You have one year after an alleged violation to file a complaint, but you should file it as soon as possible. PUBLIC SERVICE ANNOUNCEMENT

City of Pine Forest has received a Community Development Block Grant – Disaster Recovery

(CDBG-DR) contract under the Texas General Land Office (GLO). The City will comply with

the Civil Rights requirements of Title I of the Housing and Community Development Act

and the Fair Housing Law and ensure that equal opportunities are afforded to all persons

and that no person shall be excluded or denied program benefits on the basis of race, color,

religion, sex, disability, familial status, and national origin. City of Pine Forest has established

policies, plans and resolutions for the following:

PUBLIC SERVICE ANNOUNCEMENT: FAIR HOUSING, IT’S THE LAW

To promote fair housing practices, City of Pine Forest encourages potential homeowners and

renters to be aware of their rights under the National Fair Housing Law. Title VIII of the Civil

Rights Act of 1968, as amended, prohibits discrimination against any person on the basis

of race, color, religion, sex, disability, familial status or national origin in the sale or rental

of units in the housing market. For more information on fair housing or to report possible

POLICY OF NONDISCRIMINATION ON THE BASIS OF DISABILITY

City of Pine Forest does not discriminate on the basis of disability in the admission or access

to, or treatment or employment in, its federally assisted programs or activities. Cathy Nagel,

Mayor of the City of Pine Forest, has been designated to coordinate compliance with the

nondiscrimination requirements contained in the Department of Housing and Urban

Development (HUD) regulations implementing Section 504 (24 CFR Part 8. Date June, 1988).

 

CITIZEN PARTICIPATION & GRIEVANCE PROCEDURES NOTICE

FOR THE GLO COMMUNITY DEVELOPMENT BLOCK GRANT-DISASTER RECOVERY PROGRAM

City of Pine Forest has adopted complaint and grievance procedures regarding its Community

Development Block Grant Disaster Recovery (CDBG-DR) Program. Citizens may obtain a

Copy of these written procedures from the Mayor, Cathy Nagel at the

City of Pine Forest City Hall located at 305 Nagel Street, Vidor, Texas 77662, or by calling (409) 786-4100, during regular business hours. These procedures outline the steps for a citizen to follow if he/she wishes to file a complaint or grievance about GLO CDBG-DR activities. A person who has a complaint or grievance about any services or activities with respect to the GLO CDBG-DR project may, during regular business hours, submit such complaint or grievance, in writing to Cathy Nagel at the City of Pine Forest.

City Hall located at 305 Nagel Street, or by calling (409) 786-4100. City of Pine Forest will make every effort to respond fully to such complaints or grievances within fifteen (15) working days where practicable after receipt of the original complaint or grievance.
